Sue Stanfield of Hands of Hope was presented with a proclamation by Durant Mayor Martin Tucker during a recent city council meeting that designated Aug. 11 Sue Stanfield Day.
Stanfield began her career with Hands of Hope Food & Resource Center in 1988 as founding director where she demonstrated exceptional leadership, compassion, service, wisdom, gratitude and love, the proclamation states.
Hands of Hope is a nonprofi t organization in Durant that serves the surrounding communities and other area food banks.
“Whereas along with her longevity in Hands of Hope, Sue is deeply respected by the community for her integrity and mission to love people back to life,” Tucker said, reading from the proclamation.
The proclamation states Stanfied’s years of dedicated service represents a remarkable milestone and an enduring legacy of prayer, love for their neighbor and most of all, love for God.
“Now, therefore, I Mayor Tucker do hereby proclaim August 11 as Sue Stanfield Day in Durant, Oklahoma,” Tucker said. “I encourage all of Durant, Oklahoma, to join me in expressing our deepest gratitude for Sue.”
