Norma Hall Miller
Norma Hall Miller passed away peacefully and comfortably at home on September 23, 2026, at the age of 88.
She was born in Kemp, Oklahoma, and graduated from Calera High School in 1956. The small town of Calera couldn’t hold her down, and in 1963 she married Kenneth Miller, an airman that was the love of her life, and traveled the world. His service in the Air Force took them around the world, including Hawaii, Taiwan, and California.
Later, they chose to make their home in Crystal Beach, Texas, where they proudly owned Stingaree Marina from 1977 to 1982. Norma and Kenneth eventually moved to LaBelle, Texas. There, they took a small biker bar called Pine Tree Lodge and turned it into a beloved family restaurant.
Norma owned and operated the Lodge until her retirement in 2017. Retirement did not keep her away; she still enjoyed visiting with its patrons every day. If you walked through the door, you could count on a warm smile and a hug from Miss Norma.
At home, Norma loved listening to music, especially Daniel O’Donnell, George Strait, and Elvis. She enjoyed recording her “stories,” as she called them, and watching them before bed. Above all, she loved her family and friends. They meant the world to her, and she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend.
Norma is survived by her son, Mike Miller and his wife, Sandy, of LaBelle, Texas; her grandson, Ryan Miller, and his wife, Alyssa, of Mont Belvieu, Texas; her granddaughters, Alicia Miller and Amber Miller, of Rattan, Oklahoma, and Nikki Gates and her husband, Steven, of Richardson, Texas; and her bonus granddaughter, Brandy Whitaker, and her husband, Perry, of Bridge City, Texas. She is also survived by her ten great-grandchildren: Cody, Charlee, Brooklyn, Natalea, Zoey, Aidan, Kennedy, Amelia, Ethan, and Kelsi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Miller; her son, Doug Miller; her sister, Maudine Knowles; and her brothers, John Hall and Vernon Hall.
The family extends special thanks to Griswold Home Care and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care and support during Norma’s final months. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Southeast Texas Food Bank, 3845 South ML King, Jr. Parkway, Beaumont, Texas 77705-4114, a cause Norma cared deeply about and supported several times a year. A gathering of Mrs. Miller’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2026, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Haven of Rest, Beaumont, Texas.
