Donna Chartier

Donna Chartier, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Donna was the owner of The Family Health Food Store here in Durant, Oklahoma. She opened her health food store in 1976, 47 years ago. Her entire life was devoted to her store and helping people live a healthy lifestyle. She was an avid reader, constantly and continually educating herself on all the newest health breakthroughs, she was a wealth of knowledge in the field of Natural Health.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edward & Bessie Chartier, 2 brothers Larry Chartier and Robert Chartier , Bernice Chartier sister-in-law and wife to Gerald Chartier husband John Higgins (father to all 3 of her children), and Ron Williamson, a longtime friend.

She is survived by one sister Barbara Refior & her husband Lee Refior of Plano, TX, one brother Gerald Chartier of Prescott, AZ, and sister in-law Patty Chartier wife to Larry Chartier of Brush, CO.

Donna has three daughters, Jana Marksberry & her husband Ronnie Marksberry, Debra Higgins of Perkins, OK, and Carol (Higgins) Lervig of Tyler, TX. Two grandchildren Rachel Higgins of Perkins, OK, and Jon Marksberry of Durant, OK. Two greatgrandchildren Justin Marksberry and his wife Baileigh of Durant, OK, and Logan Marksberry of Durant, OK. One greatgreat- great-grandchild, Maddie Rhode Marksberry

(Parents Justin and Baileigh Marksberry). All she could talk about was getting that 5th generation picture, taken in January 2024.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 5th, at the Brown’s Funeral Home, 4900 W. US Hwy 70, Durant, OK 74701, officiating Michael Bradley of the Believers Church.

The Family will receive friends and family from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2024. The family would like to thank all of her loyal customers throughout the years.
