Joe David McGee Sr., 65, of Boswell, Oklahoma passed away on May 31st, 2024 in Denison, Texas. Joe was born on July 16th, 1958, in Durant, Oklahoma to W.A. McGee and Jennie Lynn (Howard) McGee.
Joe married Stephanie Routledge on June 1st, 2019 in Calera, Oklahoma. Over Joe’s accomplished life, he dedicated 15 years of unwavering service to Johnson & Johnson and was also a proud member of the fire brigade.
Transitioning his career in 2003, Joe embraced the open road as a truck driver until he retired in 2021. Joe graduated from Bokchito High School in 1976, he then went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of a fraternity.
Joe is survived by his wife Stephanie McGee of the home, daughter Cheyenne McGee (Hayden) of Durant, Oklahoma, son Caden McGee (Cheyenne) of Bennington, Oklahoma, stepdaughters Harla Vickery of Boswell, Oklahoma, Jessica Gordan and husband Tyler of Durant, Oklahoma, stepsons Jeremy Franklin and wife Rachel, of Blue Oklahoma, and Jordan Franklin of Blue, Oklahoma, and nephew Colton Burns of Tushka, Oklahoma. Joe also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and numerous other special friends and family.
Joe was proceeded in death by his parents W.A. McGee and Jennie Lynn (Howard) McGee, his son Joe David (JD) McGee Jr., and brother Jim McGee.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Calera Manor Nursing Home and those who helped care for Joe during his time there in the last few years.
A Celebration of Life was held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 6th, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, in Durant, Oklahoma, with Austin Berryhill and Rev.
Garry McNeill officiating.
His final resting place is at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.
