Louis Ray Robinson

Louis Ray Robinson of Bonham, Texas passed from this life on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the age of 75 years. He was born on Friday, January 16, 1948 in Durant, Oklahoma to Ollie Marion and Gladys Louise (Conditt) Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Darlene Ellis, brother David Robinson, and infant brother Junior Robinson.

After graduating Blue High School, Louis joined the Army in 1967 and was a Heavy Vehicle Driver while stationed in the Republic of Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 where he acquired the affectionate nickname “Cruz”. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Army in 1970, Louis went to work for Stahl Metals in Durant in various capacities and worked there until the Durant location was closed in 2009. Louis enjoyed working on cars, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends, Western movies, anything related to Elvis and spending time with his many four-legged friends he had over the years. He was (and still is in the hearts of his loved ones) a beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend. He will be missed dearly by those left to grieve his passing until one day we meet again.

Louis is survived by his son Robert Robinson and wife Juli of Bells, TX; daughters Vickey Patton and husband Bryan of Van Alstyne, TX and Stephanie Metts and husband Jeff of Durant, OK; his grandchildren Michaela Metts of Choctaw, OK, Jonathan Metts and wife Noel of Durant, OK, Mackenzie Robinson of Bells, TX and Christopher Patton of Van Alstyne, TX; sisters Fran Elrod of Lone Grove, OK, Marie Mora and husband Eddie of Center, TX, Alice French of Colbert, OK, and Rita Satterfield and husband Steve of Bokchito, OK; sister-in-law Sandra Robinson of Durant, OK; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
