Ruth Virginia Wade passed from this life on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in Calera, Oklahoma at the age of 101. Ruth was born on December 27, 1922 in Durant, Oklahoma to John Hayden and Jessie Mae Roberts. She married Opal William Wade on December 10, 1941 and they were married for 62 years; until his passing in 2004. 

Ruth lived in Bryan County her entire life. She graduated from Calera High School in 1940 and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Ruth worked for KSEO Radio for 23 years as an advertising agent and for Colvert’s Dairy as a brand representative. She and her husband, Opal, owned and operated Wade’s Mobile Home Park for over 40 years. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She was the President of the Eager Home Extension Group. She was also an avid bowler and was in a bowling league for many years. Ruth was a Christian and she loved the Lord. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. 

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Opal; parents, John Hayden and Jessie Mae Roberts; sisters, Helen Harvey and Stella Mae Hart; brothers, Herman and Royce Roberts; and sons, Homer and Allen Wade. 

Ruth is survived by her son, Harold Wade and wife, Staci of Mead, Oklahoma and Daughter in Law Mary Wade of Mead, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Cindy Buchanan and husband Tony of Clayton, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Lisa Hargis of Ardmore, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Valinda Marquis and husband Tony of Mead, Oklahoma; grandson, Brent Wade and wife Amy of Melissa, Texas; grandson, Stacy Lee Conway and wife Stephanie of Texarkana, Texas; grandson, David Wade and wife Jennifer of Mead, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Crystal Butterfield and husband Jason of Bokchito, Oklahoma; grandson, Jeff Wade and wife Emily of Kaufman, Texas; 12 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. 

A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Holmes-Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be David Wade, Tony Marquis, Tony Buchanan and Wes Hughes.
