Calera and Silo each split regular season finale matchups on Monday night heading into the playoffs which begin for each this weekend. The Lady Bulldogs posted a 56-48 win against Lone Grove while the boys dropped a 57-31 verdict. Silo boys, meanwhile, dropped Class 4A Harrah, 63-43, but the Lady Rebels came up on the short end of a 46-37 decision.

Silo will host Hugo in the Class 3A district playoffs on Friday night while Calera will take on visiting Colbert on Saturday night in the 2A district championship.

Calera 56, Lone Grove 48 (girls)

After a slim 9-8 Lone Grove lead through one period, Calera took command by outscoring the Lady Horns by an 18-11 count in the second frame spurred by a pair of Emma Daniel treys along with seven points from Kenzie Condor.

The Lady Bulldogs extended the margin to 32-23 after three periods and held off the visitors in the final quarter.

Daniel tallied five three pointers on the way to a game-high 21 points. Condor also reached double figures with 11 along with Carlaysia Brown’s 10. Amariah McLaughlin pumped in seven, Kaysun Thralls had four and Macy Strahan three.

Lone Grove 57, Calera 31 (boys)

Calera got off to a slow offensive start and could never quite recover against the size of the visiting Longhorns.

Lone Grove held a 13-7 lead after one quarter, extended it to 24-12 at intermission and 45-22 heading into the final stanza.

Devin Brown notched 12 points in the defeat to pace the Bulldog attack. Devan Walton scored seven, Rance Lewellen had five, Gavin Chaffin pitched in four, Colt Harper contributed two and Logan Bumgarner one.

Harrah 46, Silo 37 (girls)

It was deadlocked at 1212 through one quarter and Harrah built as much as a nine-point second period lead before Silo closed to within 23-19 at intermission.

The visitors held a slim 28-25 advantage at the end of three stanzas but then opened the final frame with 13 straight points as the Lady Rebels went cold.

Ryleigh Pierce had a big first half and finished with 13 points to top Silo offensively. Cache Atwood hit a pair of three pointers to tally eight, Kostina Tubby scored six, Kynleigh Pierce had five as Harlie Gardner notched three points and Avery Beauchamp had two.

Silo 63, Harrah 43 (boys)

The Rebels raced to an 18-8 cushion after one period and that margin expanded during a huge 25-point second quarter explosion. Charlie Gardner punched in eight in that frame alone with Zane Sander adding two three pointers and Sam Mendenall five off the bench.

Things slowed down a bit after the halftime break as each team scored eight in the third.

Silo nearly had four players in double figures as Gardner hit 18 points. Sander and Mendenall added nine apiece, Daxter Thomas scored eight, Hayden Roberts had six, Jory Allen tallied five, Barett Snapp, Britton Salsbury and Blane Beauchamp all had two with Mikel Butler scoring one.
