Annual County Tourney set for this weekend

The Annual Bryan County Basketball Tournament is set for this weekend with all games slated to be played inside Southeastern’s Bloomer Sullivan Arena. This year will be just a six-team field with Bennington and Boswell dropping from last year’s eight-team event.

Calera claimed early leads but needed decisive second half flurries to fight off Rock Creek in a Bryan County Conference showdown to open the 2025 schedule. In girls action, the Class 2A ninth-rated Lady Bulldogs needed a big fourth quarter spark to shake off the Lady Mustangs for a 61-48 triumph.
