Durant girls reached the area tournament for the first time since 2012 while the boys bowed out in Class 5A regional action last week in the Tulsa area. The Lady Lions rebounded from a regional opening 67-49 loss to Booker T.

Strong first half starts propelled Calera to a sweep of rival Colbert for the Class 2A district championship on Saturday night. The 12th ranked Lady Bulldogs steadily pulled away in the opener to topple the visiting Lady Leopards, 60-38, while improving to 23-2 on the season.

Lions drop Senior Night pair to Tulsa Rogers

Durant basketball teams wrapped up the regular season last week with a pair of tough losses to Tulsa Rogers on Senior Night. In the opener, the Lady Lions had a pair of opportunities to take the lead in the final minute but were unable to convert in a 50-45 defeat.
