Rotary Club donates Teddy Bears to police department

The Durant Rotary Club recently collected Teddy Bears that were donated to the Durant Police Department to give to children who encounter police.

Durant Kiwanis Club honors spring students

Red bud trees and daffodils are blooming, heralding another spring. Yet as the end of this school year nears, there are still more Students of the Month to honor.

Headstones restored at Gethsemane Cemetery

Last December, the Caddo Civic and Cemetery Club announced its intention to undertake restoration actions for older monuments that were leaning or possibly becoming unstable. They are now pleased to announce that this initial restoration project has been successfully accomplished.

April 11 The Owen Foundation Blazing Fun Run & 5K for Autism Awareness and Inclusion will be on Saturday, April 11 on Evergreen Street in downtown Durant. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m.

Peanut butter collected for Hands of Hope

Several entities joined forces to collect jars of peanut butter that were donated last week to the Hands of Hope food bank. Tracy Trotter, marketing manager, AllianceHealth - Durant, said this was the fourth year for the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive.
