Man accused of murdering his son

A Bokchito man is accused of shooting his son to death during an altercation on May 3. Fifty-three-year-old Michael David Bragg was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after former felony conviction.

Awards presented at Main Street Gala

The Durant Main Street Met Gala was a festive event with many awards presented. It was held last Saturday at the Bell Tower Event Center and Durant Main Street said the event blended glamour with purpose, supported the preservation of the historic district while offering an unforgettable experience.

Kiwanis has annual prayer breakfast

The Durant Kiwanis Club held its 43rd Annual Community Prayer Breakfast in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer May 1 at the new Southeastern Baptist Collegiate Ministries building. The keynote speaker was Trey Hedrick, director of the Baptist Collegiate Ministries.
