Big plays highlighted the Caddo Bruins’ lone preseason competition last week as they showed off an explosive attack full of balance against a solid Cyril squad. Coach Chad Speer’s squad will be back on the road Friday when they open the regular season at Thackerville.

DHS girls third, boys fifth at Sherman Meet

Durant runners took advantage of some early cloud cover in hot conditions to notch several strong finishes in the Sherman Invitational Cross Country meet last Saturday at Pecan Grove Park. The varsity Lady Lions took third as a team with the Lions adding a fifth-place finish.

Riding the wave of a perfect 5-0 run, the Colbert Leopards captured their own tournament title last weekend as they closed with a 5-4 championship win against Amber-Pocasset. Coach Zach Crabtree’s squad blasted their way to run-rule opening wins over Rock Creek (8-0) and Haworth (10-0).
