Lady Lions split four facing rugged opponents

In a week filled with difficult landmines, the Durant Lady Lions notched a pair of softball victories against four rugged opponents to level their season record at 5-5.

Durant runners took advantage of some early cloud cover in hot conditions to notch several strong finishes in the Sherman Invitational Cross Country meet last Saturday at Pecan Grove Park. The varsity Lady Lions took third as a team with the Lions adding a fifth-place finish.

Silo, Caddo, Rock Creek post softball victories

Competition was definitely on the tough side at the Murray State Softball Festival last week as Silo picked up three victories in four games while Caddo split four contests against powerhouse foes as well.

Riding the wave of a perfect 5-0 run, the Colbert Leopards captured their own tournament title last weekend as they closed with a 5-4 championship win against Amber-Pocasset. Coach Zach Crabtree’s squad blasted their way to run-rule opening wins over Rock Creek (8-0) and Haworth (10-0).

Lady Lions compete in rugged BA festival

After jumping out to a 3-0 season start, the Durant Lady Lion softball ran into a trio of Class 6A juggernauts while dropping their final three contests in the Broken Arrow Festival last weekend.
