After tight opening quarters, Calera girls and Colbert boys broke things open while cruising to Bryan County Conference victories last week. The Calera girls were easy 6832 victors while the Leopards returned the favor with a 52-33 verdict in the nightcap.

Wins over rivals Ardmore and Ada highlighted a busy week of dual action for the Durant High School wrestling team. The Lions were 66-12 victors on the road at Ardmore and then edged Ada by a 42-39 count in a thriller to start the Annual District Duals for a trip to Dual State.

Unbeaten Caddo broke open a tight contest in the second quarter and then held off a late charge to repeat as Bryan County Tournament boys champions with a 57-48 win over Calera Saturday night at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The Annual Bryan County Basketball Tournament is set for this weekend with all games slated to be played inside Southeastern’s Bloomer Sullivan Arena. This year will be just a six-team field with Bennington and Boswell dropping from last year’s eight-team event.
