Choctaw Cultural Center to celebrate Fourth of July

The Choctaw Cultural Center will host an Independence Day Celebration open to the public on Saturday, July 4. The event will honor 250 years of the United States with fireworks, games, food, and more. Although the Cultural Center will be closed during the day, gates will open at 6:30 p.m.

Durant Kiwanis Club announces April Students of the Month

Durant Kiwanis awards the April Student of the Month to Durant High School Senior Emma Green. In her senior year, Ms. Green carried a GPA of 4.4 while also studying as a concurrent student. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society.

The annual Durant Lions Club Draggin’ Main Car & Bike Show presented by Choctaw Casino & Resort is Saturday in downtown Durant and there will be many vintage and custom cars and motorcycles on display.

As a four-year stalwart for the Durant High School soccer team, Mia Ibarra showed tremendous versatility. She began her career as a goalkeeper before moving to the midfield during her sophomore season.
