Durant soccer splits Lawton, Kelley contests

After closing out non-district play with a sweep of Lawton, the Durant High soccer teams ran into perennial power Bishop Kelley to drop their league openers on the road last week. The Lady Lions rolled to a 4-1 triumph at Lawton ahead of the 5-1 defeat against Kelley on Thursday afternoon.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Evan Gibson, with First United Bank and Trust in Durant, recently completed the Oklahoma Bankers Association Commercial Lending School in Oklahoma City. Gibson was among 68 graduates of the school, which was held March 1-6 at the OBA Harris Event Center in Oklahoma City.

Caddo softball wins Rock Creek, Calera contests

Class 3A top-ranked Caddo held off a pair of challenges from Bryan County opponents in totally different fashion in slow pitch softball action last week. The Lady Bruins cruised past Rock Creek, 12-1, but got all they wanted and more in a 19-18 marathon victory against Calera.
