Softball playoff season began last week with solid district and regional tournament triumphs for both Caddo and Calera. Caddo, ranked second in Class A, opened its quest for a fifth straight state crown with a dominant district sweep of Clayton/Moyers, 18-0 and 18-4.

Although they had as many hits as their opponent, the Durant Lady Lions couldn’t overcome seven errors in a 7-2 loss to Bryan County powerhouse Caddo in softball action last week.

Caddo went four quarters for the first time this season and rolled up a whopping 638 yards of offense on the way to a 49-34 victory over visiting Waurika last Friday.
