Caddo Bruins cruise by Savanna for 7th straight win

After yielding a trick play touchdown on the game’s opening play from scrimmage, the Caddo Bruins put the clamps on defensively and reeled off eight straight touchdowns to blast Savanna, 55-8, and remain unbeaten.

Savage Storm dominates Northwestern, 56-14

Southeastern put together its most complete performance of the season despite a delayed start due to weather and rolled past Northwestern, 56-14, in Great American Conference action last weekend.

Durant bankers graduate from OBA Consumer Lending School

OKLAHOMA CITY — Candice Carter and Dot Myers, with First United Bank, in Durant, recently completed the Oklahoma Bankers Association Consumer Lending School in Oklahoma City. Carter and Myers were among 43 graduates of the school, which was held Oct.
Joey Devault was inducted into the 2024 Durant Athletic Hall of Fame and he was not present for last year’s ceremony, so he was honored last Friday. The 1980 Durant High School graduate was a three-year stalwart in football, basketball and baseball for the Lions as well as completing two years in track, but may be best known as the player that scored the game-winning touchdown for the Lions’ first-ever gridiron championship. Also shown is Durant Schools Superintendent Mark Moring.

Durant overcomes turnovers to edge Edison

Five turnovers is normally a sure recipe for a loss on the gridiron, but Durant managed to survive the plethora of giveaways for 14-8 win over Tulsa Edison last week at Paul Laird Field.

SE falls to No. 2 Harding, hosts NW Saturday

Battling the second-ranked team in the nation, you definitely need just about every break including turnovers to pull off an upset. The Southeastern defense forced a couple of those miscues but the offense gave it back three times which proved crucial in a 35-7 Harding victory last week.
