Bruins rack up 638 total yards to improve to 4-0

Caddo went four quarters for the first time this season and rolled up a whopping 638 yards of offense on the way to a 49-34 victory over visiting Waurika last Friday.

The Southeastern Savage Storm lost the turnover battle and allowed too many explosive plays in the second half as Southwestern scored 28 unanswered points en route to a 3514 decision Saturday night at Paul Laird Field.

Calera claims tourney title over Colbert

Calera rode a one-hit pitching gem from senior Logan Bumgarner to a 9-1 victory over rival Colbert in capturing the Calera Tournament championship last Saturday. The Bulldogs avenged an earlier loss as Bumgarner went the distance in the run rule triumph, striking out six and walking a pair.

Caddo blisters Sasakwa to improve to 3-0

Sophomore Bayler Black rushed for a career-high 201 yards and four touchdowns to fuel the Caddo Bruins to a 55-0 shellacking of Sasakwa in non-district football action last week.

With their best week of the season the Durant Lady Lions more than doubled their win total for the year that included a 3-2 record in their own tournament over the weekend.

Lions blank Arkansas foe on Homecoming

Scoring once in every quarter, the Durant Lions rode a stingy defense to a 24-0 Homecoming whitewashing of Gravette, Arkansas Friday night at Paul Laird Field. The shutout was the Lions’ first over a non-Tulsa Public Schools opponent since blanking Ada (14-0) in 2019.

Durant JV and JH competes at Fort Washita

Durant’s Junior Varsity and Junior High cross country teams competed well with several high finishes in the Fort Washita Invitational last week. Rozlyn Brumley was a medalist for the JV girls in 14th place with a time of 17 minutes, 9.98 seconds on the 3,200-meter course.
