Critical turnovers too much for Lions to overcome

After digging a massive hole, the Durant Lions put together a late rally only to come up short in a 29-14 loss to Bishop Kelley in the gridiron season finale Friday night at Paul Laird Field.

Lady Lions 11th at state, boys win Academic title

Durant’s girls cross country team placed 11th in the Class 5A State Meet Saturday while the Lions took home the Academic State Championship with a pair of individual state placers.

Durant girls team, two Lions reach CC State

The Durant High girls cross country team and two boys individuals qualified for state with solid showings in the Class 5A regional meet in Moore last weekend. Those runners will be competing in the State Meet slated for Saturday at Edmond Santa Fe.
