Calera and Silo each split regular season finale matchups on Monday night heading into the playoffs which begin for each this weekend. The Lady Bulldogs posted a 56-48 win against Lone Grove while the boys dropped a 57-31 verdict. Silo boys, meanwhile, dropped Class 4A Harrah, 63-43, but the Lady Rebels came up on the short end of a 46-37 decision.

Senior Addison Polk captured runner-up honors and Durant wrestlers had several individuals with multiple wins in the rugged Glenpool Invitational last weekend. While Polk was the top individual finisher, the Lions added a few other placers with solid showings.

Southeastern powered past University of Colorado-Colorado Springs in the first game last week before utilizing timely hitting to complete a season- opening baseball sweep at Mike Metheny Field. The Savage Storm smashed their way to a 10-1 triumph in the opener and then posted 5-4 and 11-4 victories in Friday’s twinbill.

With the Class 5A district season coming down the home stretch, Durant basketballers found the going tough in a trio of games with the Lady Lions picking up the only victory of the bunch in a 51-24 decision at Tulsa Edison.

CADDO – A rematch of a thrilling Bryan County Tournament championship game turned into a Caddo rout Monday night as the Lady Bruins avenged that tournament defeat in a 51-25 victory over Calera for the conference regular season crown.

After returning to the postseason with a conference tournament appearance a season ago, Southeastern baseball coach Zach Crabtree will be eyeing an even better finish with a veteran nucleus back to lead the way heading into Friday afternoon’s season opener.

Addison Polk and Loryn Lopez claimed girls championships and the Durant Lion wrestling team captured a pair of fourth place individual finishes in the rugged Midwestern Conference Tournament last weekend at Firelake Arena in Shawnee.

After a near miss earlier in the week, the Durant Lion basketball team managed to break through with its first district win of the season last Friday with a 56-45 verdict over rival McAlester. Success was a bit more difficult for the Lady Lions, falling to league leader Coweta as well as McAlester.
