Following a shocker over fourthranked Cyril, the Rock Creek Lady Mustangs stunned sixth-rated Waukomis as well to win the Class 2A slow pitch regional last week and advance to the state tournament for a second straight season.

Durant blasts Antlers in regular season finale

Durant belted Antlers 13-2 in baseball action last week to wrap up the regular season with a 14-12 overall record. The Lions were slated to travel to Collinsville for the Class 5A regional tournament this week along with Shawnee and Tulsa Rogers in the double elimination event.

Lion split with Booker T secures district 3rd seed

A doubleheader split of District 5A-4 contests with Tulsa Booker T. Washington secured the Durant Lions the league third place slot in the regional baseball playoffs set for next week.

Lady Lions garner two first place medals at Atoka

Durant’s high school girls track team had a pair of first place finishers in the competitive Atoka Track Invitational. Avery Sager claimed the title in the 800 meters by posting a time of 2:29.39 with Emma Sherrer also taking the discus crown with a toss of 103 feet, 1 inch.

Colbert rolls, Calera snaps Dibble Festival pair

It was a big week for the Colbert Leopard baseball team as they continued to peak heading toward the Class 2A playoffs with three solid wins. The Leopards edged Coalgate, 7-6, dropped Kingston by a 5-1 count and then blasted Konawa, 10-0, while dodging the weather.

Lady Lion soccer punches 5A playoff ticket

A 3-0 victory over McAlester on Friday night punched the state playoff ticket for the Durant Lady Lions as they placed fourth in District 5A-4. The Lady Lions split matchups last week, falling to Bishop Kelley by a 3-0 count on Senior Night to move their final regular season mark to 7-5.

Caddo, Calera, Silo claim softball district crowns

Three-time defending state champ Caddo started the run toward a four-peat in claiming a pair of Class 3A district wins over Wilson. The Lady Bruins won a tight 4-2 decision in the opener ahead of smashing the Lady Eagles 12-0 in the second contest.
